The 2017 Schools of the Future Conference (SOTF), held at the Hawaii Convention Center on October 26th and 27th featured Computational Thinkers as a guest speaker!
Sponsored by the State of Hawai’i Department of Education and Hawai’i Community Foundation to name a few, the SOTF “joins teachers and administrators from Hawaii’s public, private charter and parochial schools as they focus on how to best transform our existing schools and create new learning environments for the 21st Century.”
The conference held keynote addresses by Marc Prensky of Global Future Education Foundation and Institute, Zoe Weil of the Institute for Humane Education, and George Couros, Division Principal of Innovative Teaching and Learning for Parkland School Division.
Computational Thinkers is one of Hawai’i’s leading institutes for the “21st-century” classrooms this conference focuses on.
SOTF “highlight(s) the best practices that are taking place in our learning environments today”.
As guests speakers, Computational Thinkers is establishing its mission and reputation in the Hawai’i community as a beacon of educational and technological enrichment.
By providing the skills, practice, and resources necessary for students of all ages to become successful members of technology’s increasing integration with our every day, SOTF recognizes the importance of Computational Thinkers impact in the overall innovation of Hawai’i’s future.
Why do we use technology? Not because it makes our lives easier, but, because technology allows us to explore the infinite limits of human capability and imagination.
Computational Thinkers believes in inspiring the love of exploring, learning, and creating through coding, programming, computing, and beyond.
This is what makes Computational Thinkers different from other coding schools that focus only on the product. This is why Computational Thinkers will spark, engage, and encourage the minds of those interested in technology, not just instruct them how to use it. It is innovation inspired by a passion for quality, lifelong education. The same qualities the SOTF hallmarks.
